Two amateur photographers say that they have taken the first-ever pictures of triple and quadruple rainbows. In separate papers published in the latest issue of Applied Optics, Michael Grossman and Michael Theusner each digitally enhanced photographs to show previously uncaptured third and fourth arcs. “It is really exaggerated to say that I saw it, but there seemed to be something,” Theusner said. Video of either rainbow is, regrettably, unavailable.
